FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is there no maze for the 2024 season?
South Texas, and especially Medina county, is in the midst of a severe drought. We have not had enough rain, since 2022, to replenish our water well nor have we experienced enough measurable rainfall to sustain the growth of the maze crop.

Do you limit capacity?
Weather permitting, the month of October is traditionally our busiest, therefore we will be LIMITING CAPACITY during the month of October. The LIMITED CAPACITY will enable us to better serve our a’MAIZE’ing customers!

Are there refunds if guests leave due to rain?
No, but you can check with the admissions buildings before you leave the maze to see if they will give you a rain check, allowing you to return on a future date.

Is the pumpkin patch open after dark?
YES! The pumpkin patch is open after dark. The pumpkin patch opens the first weekend in October and closes on the last weekend in October. Online maize grounds admission is required to access the pumpkin patch.

How do you get the group discount rate?
Groups of 15+ qualify for the group discount rate. Group tickets are available onsite and online. If your group is tax exempt, please provide a copy of your tax exempt form.

Is the Graff 7A Ranch wheelchair friendly?
Yes. Please call, before visiting the maze, to get up to date ground conditions.

Is smoking allowed?
No. Smoking is only permitted in our designated smoking areas. If you are seen smoking, within the grounds, we will assume you are on fire and take appropriate action!

Can we bring our own food?
Absolutely. Though we do sell lots of yummy food onsite, you are welcome to bring a picnic. We have shaded picnic tables available on a first-come-first-serve basis. No outside alcohol is allowed to be brought on the premises. We sell a nice selection of beer and wine.

Are you open during the week?
Yes, we are open for weekday visits. Click on the Field Trips tab for more information. Online tickets are required for all weekday visits.

Are you closed if it has rained?
If our parking lot is too muddy for cars to park then we are closed due to rain. Please call before departing for the Graff 7A Ranch to get the latest  ground conditions.

At what time of the day do you close the grounds?
On our general admission days the last paid admission is at the posted closing time. Please see the Plan A Visit section of our website.

Are you open Halloween night?
No, unless Halloween occurs on one of our regularly scheduled nights of operation.

Do I have to pay admission if I have a campfire rental?
Yes, there is a grounds admission for everyone!

Are dogs allowed?
YES! Be prepared to clean up after your pet and have them on a leash.

What age is the Graff 7A Ranch appropriate for?
One of the great things about the Graff 7A Ranch is the fact that it offers something that everyone can enjoy. From babies, all the way up to grandma and grandpa, our goal is to make sure everyone in your group leaves with memories they will cherish!

Is the pumpkin patch opened in November?
No, the pumpkin patch opens the first weekend in October and closes on the last weekend in October. We will continue selling pumpkins on our grounds for your fall baking and decorating.

Are you open in November?
YES! The fall family fun continues during the month of November. Please visit the home page of our website for our November dates. The weather is usually cooler and the Fall festival keeps going with special events scheduled each weekend during the month of November. Please see the events section for details. We typically have fewer folks visiting in November. If crowds are not for you, then a visit in November will suit you, especially a visit on a Friday night!
